Is the presidential campaign losing its edge?

Independents have played a huge role in creating the current situation in the presidential campaign and until recently people have seemed interested and excited by the choices and the dialogue.  It feels to us a bit like the campaign is in a lazy spin at the moment.  The campaign is centered in Pennsylvania which is extremely partisan territory – that’s obviously recreating some of the same old negative, partisan politicking.  What kinds of questions would we, as independents, like the candidates to address, to help get the campaign back on track and create the kind of conversation we need to have as a country?
